Meghan Markle, who was in Canada with her lawful husband, Prince Harry, where they had arrived for the Invictus Games—an event for disabled military personnel—surprised her fans with an unexpected decision.
Instead of celebrating the year’s most romantic holiday in Vancouver with Harry, she returned to California to the children on a private jet before Valentine’s Day. This was reported, in particular, by the Daily Mail.
A source close to the couple said: “This was planned. Meghan is going home to be with her children. This is Prince Harry’s event, and she is there to support him, but this was planned.”
Meghan and Harry are spending an important holiday separately for the second time in the past six months.
Last fall, the Prince celebrated not just any birthday but a milestone—his 40th—without his wife. He marks the occasion in the company of male friends, going on a hiking trip.

Prince and the Duchess frequently spent time apart, seemingly deciding to focus on their separate careers. Experts found this concerning, fueling rumors about problems in their marriage and even a possible future divorce.
Critics of the couple believe that Meghan and Harry appeared together in Canada precisely to put an end to such speculation. Throughout the almost five days the Duchess spent there with her husband, they remained inseparable, constantly displaying their supposedly affectionate relationship in public.
Body language expert Judi James told The Sun that Meghan’s display of affection might have been a deliberate response to Trump’s criticism. She suggested Meghan was trying to showcase her blissful happiness with Harry and highlight her role as a loyal, supportive wife.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers also shared his opinion:
“It would have been better for the Games if Prince Harry had attended, there on his own rather than turning the event into a Meghan Markle show, as it somewhat became in the beginning.
He does that better than when she is around, because when we saw earlier in the week, she draws all the attention to herself, it became the Meghan show.”
