American billionaire singer Taylor Swift has officially married soccer player Travis Kelce. The couple celebrated their wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 3.
Rumors suggest that the stars spent tens of millions of dollars to rent the grand 20,000-seat venue, according to the BBC.
Taylor Swift Got Married
The day before the main wedding, Taylor and Travis threw a pre-party.
The wedding of the world’s richest singer has been called the “event of the century.” About a thousand guests attended the event. The newlyweds even closed off the streets around the arena.
It is said that Taylor wore an exclusive dress by Dior, jewelry by Cartier, and shoes by Louboutin.
Actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Among the guests were actor Bradley Cooper, singer Ed Sheeran, actors Zoe Kravitz, Hugh Grant, and Jason Sudeikis, model Gigi Hadid, and others.
Despite the event’s grand scale, the newlyweds managed to keep things under wraps. Almost no footage of the ceremony itself has surfaced online yet, and guests arrived at the venue in motorcades of black SUVs with tinted windows, which pulled up behind a special curtain.
The police carefully monitored security in the area.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Taylor Swift fans gathered outside the arena. However, all they managed to see was the message “JUST&T MARRIED” appearing on the screens after the ceremony.
The Love Story of Swift and Kelce
The public first learned about the relationship between the pop star and the football player in the fall of 2023. It was Travis Kelce who initiated the encounter.
According to the soccer player, he wanted to get the singer’s attention uniquely during her performance at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, where his team plays: he planned to give Swift his phone number using a bracelet. Still, he didn’t have time to do so.
Taylor later contacted him herself, and soon after, the couple went on a date in New York.
