Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want the Royal Family to “take responsibility for the pain and damage they have caused” by May. In addition, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are upset by the lack of response from the palace to their accusations, which they have told publicly. They want to receive an apology at a meeting that should take place before they attend the coronation of Charles III in May 2023 — earlier it became known that the king invited his youngest son and his wife to the event. This is reported by The Times.
According to insiders, the couple was angry that the Royal Family had earlier arranged a meeting where Prince William’s godmother and friend of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Susan Hussey, apologized to the head of the charity Sistah Space, Ngozi Fulani, to settle a racist scandal. Fulani had earlier claimed that during a reception at Buckingham Palace, Hussey asked her derogatory questions and inquired “what part of Africa she came from.”
According to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this speaks of the “double standards” that the Royal Family adheres to. “Nothing was done when Harry and Meghan raised various issues: no meetings, official apologies, or taking responsibility. It’s hard to come to terms with this, they would like to meet and hear an apology,” the insider reports.
They told about their claims to members of the Royal Family in a documentary series, the last episodes of which were released last week. In the series, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle talked about harassment by the media, which, according to them, led to miscarriage of Meghan. Family members, according to Harry, did not try to stand up for them, as it was with Prince William.
In addition, it was said in the series that the Royal Family deliberately spread information about them, exposing the couple in a bad light, in exchange for stories not appearing in the press that could harm Prince William’s reputation.
In one episode of the series, Prince Harry also expressed doubt that they would receive an apology: “I had to come to terms with the fact that we would never receive an apology or that they would take responsibility.”
The Royal Family has previously stated that they do not intend to respond to the accusations from Prince Harry and his wife.
