Prince Harry has filed a libel suit against the British newspaper The Mail on Sunday. This is reported by the Telegraph.
The Duke of Sussex’s lawyers appealed to the Supreme Court, indicating in the lawsuit the defendant Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL). The official appeal was received on the afternoon of February 23, it was confirmed by a representative of Prince Harry. ANL Holding company publishes The Daily Mail, The Mail On Sunday, and Mail Online.
The reason for the appeal was not given. However, according to media reports, The Mail on Sunday published a false article with information about the salary of the Duke of Sussex’s guards during his stay in the UK. Prince Harry is in talks over whether he and his family will be protected by the British security service during their stay in the United Kingdom. In the USA, the prince pays for the protection of the family on his own.
At the end of last year, Meghan Markle won a lawsuit over the publication of a letter she wrote to her father. The Supreme Court ruled that The Mail on Sunday violated the privacy of the Duchess of Sussex.
