Prince William and Prince Harry have been in a confrontation for several years, and hopes for their reconciliation are increasingly fading. However, the former butler of the late mother of the princes, Princess Diana, Paul Burrell, who is now fighting prostate cancer, believes that he has a way to reconcile the brothers, The Mirror reports.
The former butler, who will soon have a serious operation, says that during his 10-year service with Princess Diana, she entrusted him with many of deepest secrets, and now he simply has to reveal them by sharing information with her sons because these secrets have become a real burden for him.
Burrell admitted that he had already told the Princes some of what he knows about their mother, but that’s not all.
“I think what I have to say could bring the Princes back together.”
“I know some of it (secrets) isn’t pretty, but if I leave this place and go somewhere else they’ll never know. They should know. I will only tell them the truth, that is all. I am not looking for anything in return.
I think Diana would have said to me, “Paul, you have to make this your priority. You should go and see my boys,” he told reporters.
Burrell, who worked for Diana until her death in 1997 and was her confidant, reported about prostate cancer last month. Now he fears that due to his illness, he will not have enough time to tell the Princes the whole truth.
Previously, he called himself Diana’s “best friend” and claimed that she called him “the only man she ever trusted.” Now he considers it his duty to “contribute” to help restore strained relations between the two brothers. Burrell believes that the information that Princess Diana entrusted to him could bring them closer, adding that the late princess would like her sons to be around for the rest of their lives.
Recall that in his scandalous memoirs, “Spare” Prince Harry accused his mother’s former butler of profiting from the death of Princess Diana when Paul Burrell published his book “A Royal Duty” in 2001, containing many personal revelations.
