Dru Hammer, mother of actor Armie Hammer, recently shared on the podcast The Armie HammerTime that she gifted her son a vasectomy for his 38th birthday, as reported by The Post.
Dru explained on the podcast, “I called Armie and asked, ‘What do you want for your birthday this year?’ He replied, ‘Maybe some money or something.’ I told him, ‘I think I’ll get you a vasectomy.’” Surprised, Armie asked if she was serious. When she confirmed, he considered his two children—nine-year-old Harper and seven-year-old Ford, from his marriage to Elizabeth Chambers—and agreed, deciding he didn’t want more kids.
Armie later recounted the experience at the doctor’s office.
“The receptionist asked, ‘Will this be insured?’ I said, ‘Actually, I don’t have insurance. My mom’s paying for it.’ She looked stunned and admitted she’d never heard of a mother gifting a vasectomy before.”
Dru, known for her conservative views, revealed she hoped the procedure might discourage Armie from casual relationships, wary of women who might seek financial gain through pregnancy.
Dru also addressed past accusations against Armie, which surfaced in 2021. She stated, “He was fully exonerated,” noting that if there had been evidence of criminal behavior, charges would have been filed.
The scandal began in 2021 when a woman accused Armie of having cannibalistic fantasies and shared messages allegedly from him claiming he was “100% a cannibal.” Other women, including Jessica Ciencin Henriquez, Paige Lorenze, and Effie Angelova, also accused him of abusive behavior.
In October 2024, Armie announced his return, launching a podcast titled The Armie HammerTime, describing it as a personal journey of recovery. The show features conversations with guests who “know one thing you don’t.”
Armie denied all claims, and after a two-year investigation, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office found no evidence and declined to press charges.
Armie is also set to return to film, starring in an upcoming Western titled “Frontier Crucible”. The actor gained fame for his roles in the films The Social Network, Mirror, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
