61-year-old Hollywood actor and musician Johnny Depp, who recently surprised fans with new teeth, is now contemplating a more significant transformation of his appearance, InTouch reports, citing an insider.
The actor is determined to rebuild his career and restore his reputation, which was significantly damaged by his scandalous divorce from Amber Heard. Changing his appearance is one of the steps on this path.
The source says that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star is not ruling out plastic surgery to enhance his looks.
‘He’s become hyper-aware of how certain parts of his body are falling apart and is now putting together a health plan. He also wants to build muscle mass and possibly get some lifts—why not? The insider shared,” reports The Daily Mail.
Specifically, Johnny plans to get his large belly in shape and invest financially in some cosmetic procedures. The actor wants to improve his skin, hair, and overall appearance.
Working on his appearance is only the first step for Depp on his path to rebranding his image and reviving his career. He was ‘canceled’ in Hollywood after the scandalous divorce and legal battle with actress Amber Heard, who accused him of domestic violence, drug addiction, and violent quarrels. This seriously damaged his reputation in the ‘dream factory’ and destroyed his career.
‘People stopped calling because of what they feared at the time. I was out of work,’ the actor later shared in an interview.
Sources note that Depp’s dental treatment was crucial for restoring his position in Hollywood and, more importantly, for his overall health.
“He had no choice; his teeth were rotten to the bone, and his breath smelled bad, so it was either veneers or serious health problems, such as an infection and possibly even heart disease,” an insider revealed, adding that the actor’s bad teeth were the result of many years of “self-neglect, drinking, and who knows what else.”
Depp’s dental hygiene was scrutinized last year at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023, where he was photographed on the red carpet while promoting his film Jeanne du Barry. Everyone could see his yellow, crooked, and decayed teeth when he smiled.
In 1995, Johnny mentioned in an interview that he had always had dental issues and numerous cavities.
“When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me crazy. I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!” the actor admitted. According to him, he liked his imperfections.
“It’s like when Native Americans make something out of beads; they always add imperfections to it,” he confessed.
