Samuel L. Jackson, who played Nick Fury in the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe, has taken the initiative to nominate “Spider-Man: No Way Home” for the 2022 Academy Awards. The actor said the blockbuster fulfilled its mission to “bring people to the big dark room” and is worthy of receiving the prestigious award.
Samuel L. Jackson noted that any blockbuster has a right to exist because such films entertain large audiences. He defended Marvel movies against directors such as Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, or Francis Ford Coppola, who have wounding criticized “pointless attractions.” According to the actor, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” accomplished all the goals the movie business set for it, The Sunday Times reported.
The “Oscar”-2022 award ceremony will be held at night from March 27 to 28. Earlier representatives of the award announced that eight awards out of 23 nominations will not be shown live. The decision was explained by falling rating awards, viewers will try to attract more “star” nominations.
Film Academy will hold the first viewer voting for the best film of 2021 under the hashtag “OscarsFanFavorite”. Until March 3, inclusive, Twitter users can choose their favorite picture, even if it has not been nominated for “Oscar”-2022.
The movie, which won in the audience vote, will be called during the solemn ceremony of “Oscar”. Also, Twitter users were invited to share the best moments of the paintings of the past year with a special hashtag “OscarsCheerMoment. The most popular videos will also be shown at the Oscars, along with the accounts that published them.
Also, the organizers of the award said that they will decide three random users among those who voted for their favorite movie and pay for their trip to the Oscars in 2023. Experts believe that the innovations were introduced because of the failed ratings “Oscar” in 2021.
