The 95-year-old reigning Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II has been diagnosed with a laboratory-confirmed coronavirus.
At the same time, there are no special reasons for concern, because the monarch tolerates the disease in a mild form. The disease manifests itself with symptoms of a cold, which will allow the queen to perform “light duties in Windsor for a week,” reports with reference to her sources, Dailymail.
At the same time, Elizabeth II’s condition will be under the vigilant control of doctors who intend to categorically insist on the implementation of all their recommendations by the head of state.
The Queen celebrated the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne on February 6 this year. She is officially the only British monarch who has ruled the kingdom for seven decades.
“I can’t move!” Queen Elizabeth commented on the state of her health.
Elizabeth II became queen at the age of 25 after the death of her father George VI from cancer, at that time she already had a three-year-old son Charles and a one-year-old daughter Anna.
“I will always work, as my father did throughout his reign, to promote the happiness and prosperity of my peoples scattered around the world”, – the young queen addressed the Senate on the day of taking office.
