During a skiing vacation with her husband and daughter in 2023, she decided to access social media for the first time in her life. This way, she could share her holiday photos.
At this moment, a certain “Brad Pitt” entered her life. Or rather, the actor’s mother initially reached out to Anne via Instagram. “Jane Etta Pitt” claimed that her famous son needed a woman like her.
She was convinced by AI-generated photos of “Brad.” They had pleasant conversations. Later, he started sending her lavish gifts, but to receive them, she had to pay for the expensive shipping herself.
After interacting with him, she was so captivated that she left her millionaire husband and quarreled with her close family members, including her daughter, who disapproved of her infatuation.
The scammer also extorted money from Anne, telling her he was seriously ill and needed funds to fight kidney cancer. He claimed he couldn’t use his own money because his accounts were frozen due to legal disputes with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie. Wanting to help the Hollywood actor, Anne transferred €830,000 to him.
Eventually, the truth came out. Anne realized she had been communicating with a scammer after she learned of Brad Pitt’s affair with Ines de Ramon. After several suicide attempts, ended up in a clinic specializing in severe depression.
