The son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Høiby, has been accused of a second case of sexual assault, just two days after his arrest on a similar charge, reported CNN.

On Wednesday evening, it was announced that the court had partially granted the police’s request to detain Høiby for two weeks. This is confirmed by a ruling issued by the Oslo District Court on Wednesday evening. Marius will spend the next week in custody without the right to communicate with others.

Marius’ stepfather, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, commented on the court’s decision in an interview with NRK:

“This is a serious accusation against Marius. Today, of course, our thoughts are with all those affected. The police must do their job, and the courts must do their job. I am confident they will handle this appropriately. At the same time, this indeed affects us greatly, those close to him,” Haakon said in a video translated into English by NBC News.

The son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Høiby, is facing multiple allegations of sexualized violence. The latest accusation relates to an incident in August 2024, during which, according to police, he allegedly assaulted an unconscious woman. Furthermore, he violated a court order by continuing to contact the alleged victim, for which he was previously arrested in September.

Other incidents include death threats, physical violence, and allegations of abuse against two former girlfriends who have provided statements to the police. As a result, the number of charges against Marius could increase.

These incidents have damaged the reputation of the Royal Family, although Marius is not an official member since he was born from Mette-Marit’s previous relationship before her marriage to the Norwegian Prince.

Marius has admitted guilt for causing physical harm to the first victim while under the influence of drugs but denies the other accusations. The police investigation is ongoing.
