A recording has surfaced online of a hotel reception worker in Buenos Aires calling emergency services 999 on the day of Liam Payne’s death. The employee reported that a hotel guest was in an unstable condition under the influence of drugs and requested immediate assistance, The Daily Mail reports.

“We have a guest who’s off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come. I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger. The room has a balcony, and we are afraid he might do something.”

The death of the 31-year-old singer, former One Direction star, was reported the day before. Fans of the singer were shaken: shortly before his passing, he had posted many photos and even a video in which he stated that he was “going to have a good day.”

Journalists have since learned that the musician faced many problems before his death. Today, the media reported that Universal Music had terminated his contract. Payne signed up for the label in 2016, when he began his solo career, and he is very proud of it.

Additionally, just a few days before his death, his ex-fiancee Maya Henry had filed a lawsuit against him. She accused her ex-boyfriend of compulsive contact.

They broke up in 2022, and a year later, Maya released a book in which the protagonist dates a musician who oppresses her and forces her to have an abortion. Many fans saw this as a reflection of Maya’s own story.

Liam Payne took the book very hard: One Direction star’s team told Maya that the “whole world” would blame her if “something happened” to Liam. Upon learning of Payne’s death, Maya was shocked.
