It has emerged that Meghan Markle faced sharp criticism from Prince Harry’s friends after their first meeting at Sandringham in the summer of 2016, the Daily Express reports.
According to Tom Bower’s book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, Harry’s friends simply stunned aback by Meghan’s conduct during that first get-together.
Bauer claims that Meghan clashed with guests whose comments did not meet her “wokery” standards.
As the meeting wrapped up, Harry’s friends exchanged pointed text messages. One read, “Harry must be f—— nuts,” while another bluntly declared, “She’s a total nightmare.”
The couple’s romance—orchestrated with surprising speed—began in the summer of 2016 and led to their engagement by November 2017, with a royal wedding following just six months later.
Since Tom Bower’s revelations, Alex Rayner, a friend of Harry’s for more than a decade, came forward to defend Meghan. Discussing her Netflix series With Love, Meghan with The Daily Mail, Rayner remarked that perhaps Britons are simply more cynical, whereas the show may resonate differently with American audiences:
“I’d argue it’s made for the American market… We’re a little bit more cynical.”
