P. Diddy has received his final sentence—4 years and 2 months in prison. He was found guilty on two counts of transporting people for prostitution. This was reported by the New York Post.

Federal prosecutors had sought over 11 years in prison for the 55-year-old rapper, but the judge settled on 50 months and a $500,000 fine. “This is a harsh punishment, necessary to protect society from further crimes,” the judge said. Meanwhile, Diddy’s defense urged leniency and asked that time already served be credited, suggesting a sentence of no more than 14 months.

Before the ruling was read, P. Diddy (real name Sean Combs) read a letter asking for “one more chance” for the sake of his seven children and his 84-year-old mother. He swore he had changed: “My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will have to forever carry. I am not an extraordinary person; I’m just a person. I tried my best, but I got lost in excess and my own ego.”

In July of last year, a jury acquitted the rapper of more serious charges—racketeering and human trafficking for sexual exploitation. At the time, media outlets speculated he could have faced up to 20 years.

We should recall that the proceedings began in 2023, when Diddy’s former partner, Cassie Ventura, accused him of abuse and coercion into sexual relations with others. She sought $30 million and threatened to publish a tell-all book, but the parties reached a settlement, and the lawsuit was withdrawn. A year later, a video surfaced showing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs assaulting Cassie in a hotel corridor. After that, the musician apologized and promised to undergo therapy—but it was too late: dozens of other victims, including minors, came forward with lawsuits. In total, more than 120 such claims were filed.

In the spring of last year, federal agents conducted large-scale raids on Diddy’s mansions. The operation made major headlines: authorities found over a thousand bottles of baby oil and lubricants and piles of condoms, which were reportedly intended for use at his scandal-infamous ‘White Parties.’ At those parties, many celebrities.

By fall, the charges expanded: the prosecution added Diddy to a case alleging he was part of a criminal organization accused of human trafficking, kidnapping, extortion, arson, and corruption. The trial only began in May of this year.

Recently, information has also emerged that the rapper may have been involved in the murder of Tupac Shakur.
