Elon Musk brought his son from singer Grimes to Donald Trump’s pre-inauguration rally amidst a custody dispute and reports that the boy had returned to his mother. Footage of the event aired on Forbes Breaking News/YouTube.

Four-year-old X Æ A-12 (or “X,” as his parents call him) appeared on stage with his father at the Capital One Arena in Washington, where a crowd of thousands had gathered. The event also featured performances by Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the 1970s disco group Village People.

Fifty-three-year-old Musk delivered a speech outlining his plans during Trump’s second presidential term (as a reminder, the billionaire has joined the president-elect’s administration). However, at one point, his son stole the spotlight with spontaneous reactions to the bright stage lights and loud sounds.

“Sorry, little X just followed me onto the stage. He’s very excited, as you can see,” Musk remarked, addressing the boy’s reaction.

Earlier, 36-year-old Grimes (real name Claire Boucher) revealed that she had not seen her children with the entrepreneur for a long time. In addition to their eldest child, X, the former couple has a three-year-old daughter, Exa, and a one-year-old son, Techno Mechanicus, both born via surrogate mothers after the pair’s separation. The former spouses were also expected to meet in court regarding custody of their children. Later, the singer stated that she was the one who left Musk, and her eldest child is currently with her.

This is not the first time Musk, a father of 11 children, has brought X to public events. Previously, for example, he appeared with him at Trump’s campaign headquarters on Election Day during the U.S. presidential elections.
