The mother of P Diddy, who was arrested on charges of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, made a statement through her lawyer for the Daily Mail and urged the public to stop “the public lynching” against her son.

“I speak today as a mother devastated and deeply saddened by the accusations against my son, Sean Combs. It breaks my heart to see him judged not by the truth, but by a story built on lies,” Janice Combs said in the statement.

“Watching the public lynching of my son before he’s had the chance to prove his innocence is an indescribable pain,” she added.

Janice acknowledged that her son “has made mistakes,” including his failure to fully admit his wrongdoing in the abuse of his ex-girlfriend, Cassie. She pointed out that the quick resolution of that lawsuit—after Cassie withdrew her claims following a settlement—has led others to seek financial gain from him.

“The false accusations against him are driven by those seeking financial profit, not justice. These individuals saw how swiftly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s case, and now believe they can get easy money by falsely accusing him.”

She also noted that, like anyone, her son isn’t perfect.

“I’m not here to paint my son as flawless because he isn’t. He’s made mistakes, as we all have. My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain matters, such as denying ever acting aggressively toward his ex-girlfriend, even though hotel surveillance footage suggests otherwise.

Sometimes, the lines between truth and lies blur, and admitting even part of the truth can feel overwhelming, especially when it challenges the norm or seems unbelievable.”

Janice added that “false accusations of sexual assault against her son undermine real victims of sexual violence from achieving the justice they deserve.”

Sean Combs was arrested in September and charged with human trafficking for sexual exploitation, fraud, and coercion, as well as organizing the transportation of sex workers. He denied the charges and sought release on bail, but the request was denied.

Many celebrities who attended his infamous parties have also found themselves implicated in the scandal, and many are concerned that they may be called to testify in court.
